Hookdeck is an Event Gateway — the API Gateway built for event-driven architecture.
The Story
In 2020, Alexandre Bouchard and I noticed teams repeatedly designing the same architecture to manage webhook integrations and protect against data loss or discrepancies. We believed we could solve this for every company — so we co-founded Hookdeck.
Over four years, we raised over $5M (led by Matrix Partners), grew an incredible team of ten, and built a product that developers love. In 2024, I stepped away for personal reasons (caregiving).
My Role
As co-founder, I led go-to-market and operations. I focused on turning ideas into action and helped move things forward wherever it was needed. Whether that meant figuring something out from scratch or stepping in to keep things running.
I defined our target customer, shaped how we positined and talked about the product, and built the marketing and sales efforts from the ground up — for example, an SEO and content strategy that became a key part of our product-led growth. On the operations side, I put systems in place to help a distributed team stay aligned and work effectively.
What’s next?
I grateful for the experience and everything it taught me about building from zero. I learned more than I could’ve imagined and got to live entrepreneurship in its rawest form. Though my time is limited, I still support Hookdeck on a fractional basis, helping with operations and special projects.
